SMC Industry Days
SMC Industry Days is an annual event where industry is invited to learn about current and upcoming programs at the AF Space and Missile Systems Center. This event focuses on business opportunities in military space programs and information of interest for the 375+ aerospace professionals representing over 50 companies in attendance. Industry Days is sponsored by SMC with co-sponsors: The AFA Schriever Chapter, The AFCEA-LA Chapter, NDIA-LA Chapter and the Southern California Aerospace Professional Representative Association (SCAPR).

Space and Missile Systems Center
The Space and Missile Systems Center (SMC) is the Air Force's premier space acquisition center. SMC's mission is to develop, demonstrate, acquire, field and sustain the world's best space and missile capabilities for the joint warfighter. Programs focus on space force enhancements including communications, navigation and tracking satellites; space support including launch systems and satellite control networks; and force application. The Space and Missile Systems Center, a subordinate unit of the Air Force Space Command at Peterson Air Force Base, Colorado, is the center of technical excellence for researching, developing and purchasing military space systems.

The center is located at Los Angeles Air Force Base in El Segundo, CA, four miles south of Los Angeles International Airport. The center is also responsible for on-orbit check-out, testing, sustainment and maintenance of military satellite constellations and other Department of Defense space systems.

The center has an annual total budget in excess of $6.5 billion per year and employs 1,575 military members, 1,152 civilians and an estimated 900 contractors worldwide. It manages between $50 and $60 billion in contracts at any one time.

Industry Days Co-Sponsors
The Los Angeles area chapters and organizations of the Air Force Association (AFA), the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA), the California Space Authority, the National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA) and the Southern California Aerospace Professional Representatives (SCAPR) continue their joint co-sponsorship with SMC for the SMC Industry Days conference. The AFA General Bernard Schriever Chapter, the AFCEA-LA Chapter, the California Space Authority, the NDIA-LA Chapter, and SCAPR coordinate with SMC and make all arrangements necessary to hold the conference, handle all external planning and logistics, conduct advance and on-site registration operations, and ensure revenue from registration and associated activities balance all expenses.
